Elise has always believed that you shouldn't have sex with someone until you're in love - we're talking a Jane Austen story worthy love - because people will label you a slut if you "give yourself away" too soon. What she doesn't see coming is her hormones. And they've never heard of Mr. Darcy.

A story about the first time. Yes. That first time.

"Whenever I saw a movie that depicted a girl ‘losing her virginity’ - which is a phrase I hope will fade out over time - it was either super traumatic and painful, or it was this glamorized event that set some high expectations for the first time. Not saying those two can't happen, but I wanted to show something that was down the middle and potentially more relatable."

Kara started writing fifteen in March of 2015. The story takes on this event with humour, honesty, and lots of awkward moments. Kara's goal with fifteen is to help start more sex-positive conversations and get rid of the negative stigma that is on girls having sex not only for the first time, but in general.
